Independent or Interdependent Artists???

I believe that the term "Independent Artists" should be replaced with "Interdependent" Artists.
Regardless of the genre of expression, artists have more in common with one another than
many of us realize. Our Network will ultimately define our Net Worth.

"Interdependent" Artists should continue to network with and support one another.
We should recycle our talents, our dollars and resources within the community -

Two things stand out in my mind as impediments to the advancement of Interdependent Artists:

1) "Brainless same old sameness"

Your artistic expression is as unique to you as your fingerprints are.

Why should you try to leave someone else's impression on
a page in the book of life???

Be yourself; because that is who you were called here to be!

2) Watering down your sound in order to be heard:

When the powers that be define a sound or style as "hot" - in order to survive many artists will
conform, or distort their expression to follow the mandated trend. The end result is art
that is not even luke warm.

I'll stay true to myself and my art and trust that my blessing is soon to come.

This is my personal philosophy:

I would rather walk with Eagles than to soar with dodo birds.
